Jamie Cope, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President, Research and Translational Medicine
Dr. Cope is a drug discovery and development veteran with two decades of industry experience. He is responsible for directing the ongoing research and clinical development of Synchronicity Pharma’s Cryptochrome modulator program. Prior to joining Synchronicity, he was cofounder of Tricida, Inc., which is now a late-stage pharmaceutical company developing a therapy for metabolic acidosis. Dr. Cope helped invent and develop two approved drugs: Kiklin®, and VeltassaTM, for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia and hyperkalemia, respectively.
Dr. Cope received his B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh and his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He conducted postdoctoral work at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, and at the University of California, Berkeley.
